The Committee of the Omagh & District Snooker League wish to put forward the following proposals:
3 Man Team Proposal
• A 3 Man Team format in Division 2 to allow for promotion and relegation from Division 2 to Division 1 and vice versa whilst enabling the league to retain players
• This would ultimately mean that there would be too many teams participating for the league to run both Division 1 and Division 2 on a Thursday night therefore the Division 1 League would now move to a Wednesday/Friday night while the Division 2 league would remain on a Thursday night
• Having both Divisions in the same format allows the winners of Division 2 to move into Division 1 without having to split their team up which is currently the case with a 5 man team moving into a 3 man team format
• A handicap system would also be implemented for the Division 2 winning team that moves into Division 1, each player on the team would be given a +14 handicap for one year only. Additionally, the team relegated from Division 1 and moving into Division 2 would be given a -7 handicap for one year only.
• In the event that the 3 man team format is successfully implemented into Division 2 we can then create a Division 2 Premier League competition similar to the current Premier League Competition. The Top 16 players in Division 1 would play in the Premier League and the Top 16 players in Division 2 would play in the Championship League.
